Dairy prices rose slightly at Fonterra's latest bi-monthly global dairy auction on Wednesday night, halting a slide of four consecutive falls.
The global dairy trade-weighted price index increased 1.5% to an average selling price of $US3277 per metric tonne.
Last week, Fonterra said its forecast payout is $6.75 - $6.85 per kg of milk solids for the current season.
Whole milk powder and skim milk powder prices slipped, offset by rises in cheddar, rennet casein, milk protein concentrate and anhydrous milk fat.
