The New Zealand Music Awards nominees for Best Producer, Best Engineer and Best Artwork have been announced, as well as details of the main event itself.
There’s some familiar names in the mix including Lorde’s producer Joel Little who is nominated for his work with local duo Broods, while SJD aka Sean Donnelly gets a nod for his self-produced record, Saint John Divine.
Clint Murphy has two nominations up his sleeve - Best Producer and Best Engineer - for his work with alt-metal act Devilskin. He teamed up with the band on their latest album We Rise and previously collaborated on records with Kimbra, 8 Foot Sativa and Bic Runga.
The technical awards will also recognise the names behind some of the year’s best album covers, with artwork for Shihad, Cairo Knife Fight and Broods amongst the finalists.
The winners of the awards will be revealed at an event in Auckland on Tuesday October 13. We’ll also find out the full list of music awards finalists, the Critics’ Choice Showcase lineup and the recipient of this year’s Legacy Award.
The New Zealand Music Awards, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be held on Thursday November 19 at Vector Arena.
