New Zealand will contribute $3 million to help Papua New Guinea as it recovers from February's major earthquake.
Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said the full extent of the disaster was only now becoming clear.
There had been extensive damage to water and food sources, transport infrastructure and a significant loss of life, he said.
At least 125 people have died and more than 18,000 people have been displaced.
New Zealand has been working with the PNG government, Australia and other donors to provide humanitarian relief, transporting relief supplies from New Zealand to PNG and from Port Moresby into the Highlands.
The $3m will be used to help recovery efforts on the ground, with up to half going to New Zealand NGOS working with local partners.
New Zealand has already committed an initial $500,000 and a C130 Hercules to take emergency supplies to PNG.
