A West Otago farmer who supports meat industry reforms has won a seat on the board of the country's biggest meat company, Silver Fern Farms.
Fiona Hancox, who was endorsed by the Meat Industry Excellence group, displaced Herstall Ulrich of Canterbury.
Silver Fern's chairman Rob Hewett was also returned in the latest election, with by far the largest number of votes.
Mr Ulrich has been a director for six years. He has been involved in an earlier farmer reform movement, the Meat Industry Action Group.
