The Bougainville Electoral Commissioner says his office is considering eight election petitions from the August poll.
George Manu said most of the petitions are not directed against his office, but rather the winning candidate, with his office the second respondent.
He said the petitioners were mostly alleging election fraud.
"Mostly runners-up are complaining that the winning candidate bribed people and that the delivered things during the campaign period and that sort of thing. A bit about the rolls but mostly bribery cases against the winning candidates."
He said there would be a pre-hearing where the judge would decide whether there was a prima facie case for the candidate to answer.
Manu said because his office had been listed as second respondent in some of the petitions, it was also seeking legal advice on the matters.
The August poll saw record numbers contesting the election in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region, with an unprecedented number of voters also taking part.
In September, a former leader of the Bougainville Revolutionary Army, Ishmael Toroama, was sworn in as Bougainville's fourth president.
