Manchester United reclaim top spot

Manchester United have reclaimed pole position in English football's Premier League with a sluggish 2-1 win over struggling Fulham.

United had had been leapfrogged by Leicester City yesterday and then Manchester City early this morning but responded with their eighth away win of the season.

An upset appeared to brewing when Ademola Lookman rewarded the hosts for a bright start by scroing after just five minutes.

But United came to life though and Edinson Cavani equalsied from close range in the 21st minute and a rejeuvenated Paul Pogba gave United the lead in the 65th minute when he cut in and arrowed an unstoppable shot past the Fulham keeper.

United move to the top with 40 points from 19 games, two points above City, who have a game in hand and Leicester.

It is the first time for eight years United have been top at the halfway stage of the season.
