Police in Samoa investigate MP over shooting incident

20:27 pm on 28 October 2009

An MP of Samoa's ruling HRPP party, Solamalemalo Keneti Sio, is at the centre of allegations from a man in his village of Faleula that he was behind a shooting incident currently being investigated by the police.

The Police Commissioner, Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo, has confirmed the investigation should be completed next week when the police would decide whether to press any criminal charge against the first-term MP for Sagaga Le Falefa constituency.

The complainant alleges the MP was involved in a conspiracy to shoot him as a result of a Lands and Titles court ruling.
