Twelve officers from the New Zealand police force have arrived in Papua New Guinea to help the local constabulary prepare for hosting APEC next year.
New Zealand's high commissioner to Papua New Guinea, Sue Mackwell, said the 12 would be joined by three others early next year to work alongside counterparts in the Australian Federal Police.
Ms Mackwell said New Zealand's assistance would be directed at building the capability of close protection personnel in the PNG police force to provide security during the leaders' summit and related lead up meetings.
