The head of operations at SkyCity has quit just days after appearing in an Auckland court on a drink-driving charge.
A spokesperson for SkyCity confirmed that chief operating officer Stuart Wing resigned on Monday so he could return to Australia.
They would not comment on whether the drink-drive conviction played any part in his decision, but made it clear that the incident took place in Mr Wing's own time.
His departure comes as the casino negotiates a controversial deal with the Government to build a convention centre in central Auckland return for more gambling machines.
