The New Zealand men's hockey team has climbed one place to sixth in the latest world rankings.

The improvement follows their runners-up result at the recent World League finals in New Delhi.

Australia has top spot from Germany and the Netherlands.

Based on the latest rankings, New Zealand has been grouped with Germany, The Netherlands, South Korea, Argentina and South Africa for the World Cup in the Netherlands at the end of May.

The New Zealand women, who are ranked fifth, were last month grouped with the Netherlands, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Belgium.
