Police appeal for information on missing man Veon Smith

Police are concerned for the welfare of missing Whangārei man Veon Smith, and are asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.

The 48-year-old was last seen on Sunday 4 June at his home, police said in a media release.

"Extensive searches" had been carried out, and his car was found on Sunday afternoon at Whangārei's Mair Park, but Smith had not been found.

Police said both Smith's family and the officers involved had serious concerns for his well-being.

Smith was described as slim and tall with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing trackpants and a checked shirt.

Anyone who sees Smith or knows where he is was asked to call 111 immediately.
