Police warn Wellington motorists to expect delays as gang convoy travels for tangi

Wellington police are monitoring a gang convoy travelling through the Wellington region for a tangi.

Police said the convoy would be travelling through Wainuiomata - where the tangi was taking place this morning - to Porirua this afternoon.

Police are expecting large number of gang members on the roads and say other motorists should expect delays.

Any unlawful behaviour will be investigated and followed up with enforcement action, police said.

People who were concerned about their safety in regards to the group, or witness illegal behaviour happening, can call 111.

People could also report or send in any concerning footage of the group online at 105.police.govt.nz, or by calling 105, or reporting it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
