CNMI readies for possible Ebola victims

The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation and the Ports Authority in the Northern Marianas are working to identify an isolation zone where victims of the Ebola virus can be kept if they ever reach the CNMI's shores.

The Healthcare Corporation chief executive, Esther Muña, says enhanced entry screening is now being done at five major airports in the United States to try to prevent a U.S. outbreak.

The process includes isolation and provision of care and getting the patient's contacts and their contacts.

If the contacts show symptoms, they will also be immediately isolated, tested and provided care.
