A man accused of shooting dead another man in Papakura on Saturday has been kept in custody.
The 28-year-old was remanded without plea at his first appearance in the Manukau District Court this morning.
He cannot be named while an interim suppression order is in place.
He is charged with murdering 26-year-old Shon Tyson Wanahi near the local train station early on Saturday, and with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to another man.
The injured man is still in hospital in a stable condition.
