A 14 year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 40-year-old Flaxmere man Kelly Donner.

Mr Donner was found injured outside the a pub in the Hastings suburb on 4 March and died of his injuries shortly afterwards.

The 14-year-old was the last of five youth to be arrested in connection with his death.

The boy appeared in the Hastings District Youth Court this morning wearing only shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of white socks.

He was charged with murder and stabbing with a weapon and was remanded in custody.

He will appear in the Napier High Court on 10 May.

The boy was arrested on 7 April, more than a month after Mr Donner's death, after police urged the Flaxmere community to give him up.

Four other teenagers - aged between 14 and 16 - have also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to Mr Donner's death.

They all appeared in Hastings District Court this morning, either in person or via video link, but no pleas were entered as they may face more charges.

They will reappear on 3 May.
