Australia's High Commissioner in Samoa, Sue Langford, says effective spending on health will help Samoa to grow the economy and generate wealth that can sustain further improvements in health and other basic services.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony Ms Langford says that's why Australia with developing partners such as New Zealand and the World Bank are contributing to build the warehouse.

The pharmaceutical warehouse is one of the four remaining priority buildings Australia, New Zealand, and the World Bank are helping the government of Samoa to construct for the health sector.

It includes the Primary Health Care clinic, the renovations to the Tuasivi national Hospital in Savaii island and the Orthotics and Prosthetics building.
