Auckland Airport reopened after evacuation

07:56 am on 7 March 2011

Authorities are investigating an unusual smell at Auckland Airport that led to an evacuation of part of its international terminal.

The ground floor of the terminal was evacuated at 6.40am on Monday for about 20 minutes as the Fire Service tried to find the source of the smell.

People were allowed back in though the cause of the smell was not immediately identified.
