Christchurch police are investigating a workplace death in the suburb of Hornby.
Emergency services say they were called to the Carmen Road address at about 12.40pm on Tuesday, where a person was found dead.
Police said they were investigating on behalf of the coroner and Worksafe had been advised.
St John said it sent two ambulances, one rapid response unit and an operations manager to the scene.
