Fiji's Health Minister says there have been more than 2500 cases of dengue fever in Fiji this year and at least one person has died from the mosquito-borne disease.
FBC News reports Ifereimi Waqainabete told Parliament that dengue not only posed a threat to all Fijians but also to the tourism sector.
He said 16 died from the disease in 2014 and just two last year, showing Fiji has been able to control the mobility of the disease and reduce the mortality rate.
