Solomons Govt on verge of collapse

06:02 am on 31 October 2017

The Solomon Islands government of Manasseh Sogavare appears to be on the verge of collapse after a series of resignations by ministers.

Nine ministers, including Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga, tendered their resignation at the weekend, while a number of backbenchers have announced their move to the opposition.

The group plans to oust Mr Sogavare in a vote of no-confidence next week, as Johnny Blades reports.
