Earthquake south of Twizel

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck south of Twizel on Tuesday morning.

The quake, which hit at 6.40am, was centred 10km south of the town, and was at depth of 11 km.

It was likely to have been felt in South Canterbury.
