French coach signs off

08:00 am on 27 October 2011

France's rugby coach Marc Lievremont signed off from the job with one final jibe at the media after a tempestuous battle throughout the rugby World Cup.

The former France international had sparred with his country's media throughout the tournament, and he told reporters he didn't want them to miss him very much.

Lievremont said "thank you" to his team and asked them to forgive his calling them "spoiled brats" after they'd defied orders and gone out to celebrate their semi-final win.

He hoped the players would eventually come to respect what he had done with the team in his four years in charge.
