Weepu concedes Hurricanes inexperience proving costly

22:41 pm on 13 April 2011

The Hurricanes Super Rugby halfback Piri Weepu takes his first step towards reclaiming his All Blacks jersey on Saturday when he turns out for Wainuiomata in the Wellington club competition, in his first game of rugby in six months.

Weepu will play three games in just seven days starting on Saturday, as he races against time to be match fit for the Hurricanes home match against the Reds on April the 30th.

It's been a frustrating few months on the sideline for the Te Aute product watching his Hurricanes team-mates go from bad to worse and concedes the Hurricanes have been lacking experience in key positions.

Weepu's Hurricanes team-mates are currently in South Africa for their two game tour the first of which is against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Sunday morning.
