Four American soldiers were killed on Tuesday in an attack on Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Bagram, near the Afghan capital Kabul, is the largest military base for US troops in Afghanistan.
A US official said the base was attacked with some kind of indirect fire, leaving open the possibility it was hit by rockets or mortar rounds.
