Five years ago a kiwi couple set off on their dream voyage yachting around the world, now they're own their way home thanks to a special exemption. Alan Forest and Anne Pilcher began their adventure in 2015 in their 36-foot Ganley steel yacht, "Kiwi Dream", which has taken them to 22 countries. They've been granted a special exemption to return home, but they'll need to quarantine for at least five days in Opua and pass a covid test before they can set foot on dry land. But three German yachties were not so lucky, they were sent home on a flight yesterday after arriving in the Bay of Islands - after their exemption to come here was declined. Reporter Louise Ternouth spoke to Alan just under 200 miles, 370 kilometres, away from home on board their yacht.
