Thousands of low-wage workers have marched in New York, Los Angeles and other American calling for a minimum wage of $US15 an hour.
The union-backed "Fight for $15" campaign has expanded since its inception in 2012 from a movement mostly centred on the fast-food industry to encompass other low-wage sectors, such as home healthcare, retail outlets and hospitals.
Much of the attention in the latest rallies was on McDonald's restaurants.
The Democratic Party presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders both expressed support for the marchers.
