New Zealand growers are expected to plant tens of thousands of Piqa Boo trees in the next few years.
The new pear variety combines the best of Asian and European pear attributes.
And Dazzle, the newest apple on the block, has growers queuing up for trees. The extra-sweet, large red apple has been developed for customers in Asia.
