Some details have been released about the memorial service to be held in Wellington next week for the three New Zealand children who died in a blaze at a shopping mall in Qatar.

The fire engulfed parts of the Villagio Mall in the the capital, Doha, killing 19 people, including two-year-old New Zealand triplets, Lillie, Jackson and Willsher Weekes.

A family spokesperson says the service will be held at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul next Friday and the children's parents, Martin and Jane Weekes will attend.

He says the couple has been overwhelmed by the support they have received and they want to hold the service so people who feel touched by the triplets' lives can pay their respects.

The Crown Prince of Qatar has ordered a special commission to investigate the fire and its findings are due next week.
