Police are looking for a red car and its driver after a crash that caused power cuts in the Hawke's Bay town of Haumoana Thursday night.
Police said the car struck a barrier, multiple fences and a power box on Haumoana Road shortly before 8pm.
The car was thought to be considerably damaged on the left hand side.
"If you witnessed this incident or have any information about those involved, police would like to hear from you."
The damage caused the area to lose power for several hours, with about 200 properties affected.
Unison's website shows power was restoed shortly before 12am.
