Vettori says provincial turnout a worthwhile exercise

The Black Caps members who rejoined their provincial sides in Monday's round of domestic one day cricket matches enjoyed little success.

But New Zealand captain Dan Vettori believes it was still a worthwhile exercise.

Seven players turned out for their provinces after not having had much match play in the two rain-affected one dayers against the West Indies.

Tomorrow the two sides square off in game three in Wellington with New Zealand having to win all three remaining matches if they're to take the series, and Vettori feels the provincial game time will have helped.

Meanwhile there's still no word on whether or not all-rounder Jacob Oram will play tomorrow.

He trained with the side this afternoon and will undergo a further fitness test before the day-nighter.
