Police have made changes regarding the use of Tasers after an officer lost one in Gisborne on Guy Fawkes night, they say.
The weapon was dislodged from the officer's belt clip when a group of youths aimed a firework at him, hitting his arm.
A month on, the taser has still not been found.
Tairāwhiti area commander Sam Aberahama said they were still trying to find it.
He said deployment and training processes to do with tasers had been improved as a result of the incident.
