Auckland police have arrested a second man for the killing of a Mt Roskill man two days before Christmas.
Brian James, 23, was shot and killed at a Glass Road house and two other men inside were injured with a machete.
Police have today arrested a 42-year-old man in south Auckland and have charged him with murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Within hours of this morning's arrest, the Operation Husky investigation team also located and charged another South Auckland man, aged 39, with being accessory after the fact to murder.
He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm after police found a loaded sawn-off shotgun, police said in a statement.
A 33-year-old man was arrested in Napier a fortnight ago.
He was also charged with murder and wounding with intent, in relation to the two other victims who were injured.
Both men arrested today will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard of Auckland City CIB said that while the investigation team had made several arrests, police could not rule out further arrests or additional charges being laid.
He said the family of James, along with the two victims of the machete attack, are relieved and grateful at this latest development.
