Vanuatu's Prime Minister Charlot Salwai has denied a report in the Vila Times that the government has reconciled with the failed Apma Financial Investment Centre on Pentecost island.
Mr Salwai called a news conference in a bid to dispel rumours about the government stance towards the organisation.
AFIC was deregistered after an audit report alleged irregularities and a case is now pending in court.
The rumours suggested a connection between the organisation, the prime minister and his public relations officer because the two men are also from Pentecost island
Mr Salwai said even if his government were invited to a reconciliation ceremony, it would not be part of it under the current circumstances.
