A recount of votes cast in the outer island electorate of Mauke during the June general elections in the Cook Islands has delivered the same result - a one vote win to the Cook Islands Party candidate Tai Tura.
Mr Tura won his seat by 68 votes, a vote ahead of One Cook Islands candidate Tungane Williams who applied for the recount that was held in the Avarua High Court this morning.
One Cook Islands leader Teina Bishop said the focus now is on the petition filed by Mrs Williams against a decision by the Electoral Office to disallow her vote during the general elections.
This afternoon, the Avarua High Court will start administrative matters concerning a number of petitions filed by the parties - most alleging bribery.
