The mother of a man who was killed in a tank explosion says she's happy Huntly College has a scholarship for trainee welders in his name - but she doesn't want the firm he worked for to be associated with it. Jamey Lee Bowring died when the tank he was welding at Salters Cartage exploded two years ago. Ron Salter appeared in the Manukau District Court yesterday for sentencing after admitting more than 30 health and safety charges. The sentencing decision has been reserved. Sarah Ferguson is Jamey's mother and doesn't want Ron Salter's name associated with the Huntly College scholarship.
