The 18-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing a Christchurch dog-walker has appeared in Christchurch District Court on a murder charge.
Bailey Messervy was originally charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, after he stabbed Nigel Wilson near the entrance to Bexley Park.
It was upgraded to murder earlier this week after Wilson, whose name suppression ended today, died in hospital.
Judge Raoul Neave remanded Messervy in custody until a High Court appearance next year.
A 23-year-old woman was also charged as an accessory and will appear on the upgraded charges at a later date.
