A man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at police and firing it three times at random in west Auckland.

Officers and the armed offenders squad were called a property in Cherry Tree Place in Massey early this morning.
Police say no-one was hurt when the man fired the gun.
The 28-year-old is due to appear in the Waitākere District Court today.
