The police in Morrinsville say a decision on whether any charges will be laid against the owner of four hunting dogs that attacked a 13-year-old boy will be made early next week.
The boy received more than 100 wounds when the four Pitbull-Greyhound-cross hunting dogs mauled him while he rode his bike down on Monday evening.
The dogs have since been destroyed.
The police say they are following a number of lines of inquiry, including talking to witnesses.
The boy, whose name isn't being released, remains in a fair condition and is likely to remain in Waikato Hospital for a few more days.
