Demonstrators opposed to the French Polynesian government's pension reforms have entered the territorial assembly.
They breached security as the president Edouard Fritch outlined a new proposal in a bid to end the general strike.
The unions want the reform to be abandoned and they have been on strike for three days.
Mr Fritch offered new retirement terms and suggested politicians be subject to the same pension scheme as the general public.
A union leader has rejected the government stance and vowed to block all economic activity from tomorrow.
