Results of tests on samples from two Fijians isolated in Nadi Hospital have returned negative for the novel coronavirus, the Ministry of Health says.
The pair had been quarantined since arriving on a flight from the Chinese city of Guangdong on Monday, when they displayed symptoms similar to the coronavirus.
Samples were sent to a World Health Organisation laboratory in Melbourne for testing.
The ministry said in a statement the two would soon be on their way home.
Meanwhile, a foreign national with a fever was placed in isolation at Nadi Hospital on 6 February, the ministry said.
Samples from the patient have been sent to Melbourne and health ministry response teams are managing people who have come into close contact with the patient.
