Staff at Vanuatu's corrections department have confiscated 24 cartons of beer from Port Vila's low-risk prison.
The department's director, Johnny Marango, says the beer was found in the room of a detainee during a surprise check.
Investigations are underway to find out how the beer was smuggled into the prison.
