The New Zealand cricketers have held their first training session ahead of the Bangladesh tour, which starts with a one-off Twenty20 match in Hamilton on Wednesday.
The newly appointed Black Caps coach Mark Greatbach says that and the three-match one day series will give the new players a chance to impress, as well as provide a stage for the returning players - though he's wary of Bangladesh.
Greatbach says Bangladesh are no easy beats and pushed New Zealand on their last tour over there.
Central Districts opening batsman Peter Ingram, who scored a commanding half century in Sunday's national Twenty20 final victory against Auckland, is the one newcomer on Wednesday while the other new cap, left arm medium-quick Andy McKay, is to debut in the three-match one day series starting on Friday in Napier.
Ingram's also in line for the Test squad. The Black Caps play one Test against Bangladesh to end the tour, in Hamilton.
The Bangladeshis also held their first training at Seddon Park and their Australian coach Jamie Siddons is impressed with his young charges' progress.
