A man has been arrested on three rape charges following a Hawke's Bay police and Immigration investigation.
The joint operation was launched after a victim complained to Immigration New Zealand last week about migrant exploitation and potential human trafficking.
As a result of the search warrant issued in Operation Wentworth, two migrants were served deportation liability notices, and Immigration enquiries were continuing, police said in a statement.
A 44-year-old man was due to appear in the Hastings District Court on Thursday.
Police said the investigation was ongoing and urged anyone who may have been a victim to come forward, and have given an assurance any complaints would be taken seriously.
Anyone with information can contact police on 111 and quote file number 231129/1010 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, police said.
