The Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Napuat, said the issue comes within the jurisdiction of the Police Service Commission, and he's called on it to resolve the matter as soon as possible.

Mr Napuat said there are significant planned developments on national security this year and any implementation of these without a police commander is not appropriate.

Mr Nalpini was suspended in September last year but the reasons for the action have been withheld.
