Ten artists, including a brother and sister, have been recognised for their work at the Macquarie Private Wealth New Zealand Arts Awards.
Awards worth more than $350,000 were presented by the Arts Foundation on Tuesday night at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland.
Five laureates received $50,000 each. Three others were named New Generation artists deemed to have extraordinary potential and received $25,000 each.
Laureates included photographer Fiona Pardington, writer Emily Perkins and the musician Whirimako Black.
Ms Pardington's brother, Neil Pardington, was also recognised, receiving the Marti Friedlander Photographic Award and $25,000.
David Elliot won the award for children's book illustrators.
