For a lot of people these days, being single means being on a dating app.

But the search for love can be exhausting and most of these apps - with their fast-paced swipe left or swipe right function - don't get to the heart of what connects two people.

Amor is a New Zealand-made dating app that incorporates matchmaking technology and psychology and relationship science to help people find a good match.

It was launched yesterday and it's founder Emily Heazlewood speaks to Jesse.
