A low-cost airline based in the Philippines wants to launch air services between Manila and the Marianas and the move is being welcomed by the CNMI's tourism body and airport agency.
The Marianas Visitors Authority said Philippines AirAsia's plan to fly a Manila-Saipan route would provide convenient services for CNMI residents who want to visit the Philippines, especially those seeking medical care there.
The Commonwealth Ports Authority said it will be exciting to have direct flights from Manila to Saipan.
Philippines AirAsia is a low-cost airline based at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
It is an affiliate of AirAsia, the low-cost operator in Malaysia.
