Sky TV says it won't comment on whether it's planning to buy Orcon, but says it's not looking to become an internet service provider.
There have been reports the television company is considering buying New Zealand's fourth largest internet provider, Orcon, which is currently up for sale.
It comes as Sky prepares to launch an online video on demand service, working in conjunction with Vodafone.
Chief executive John Fellett said Sky had no interest in becoming an internet provider.
He said Sky was sticking to providing content, and internet provision was a business expertise he didn't have.
