Police are responding to a motorcycle crash that has blocked State Highway 2 between Ōpōtiki and Gisborne.
The crash was reported shortly after 4:30pm south of Waioeka Gorge, near the intersection with Rakauroa Road.
One person is in a critical condition.
State Highway 2 is blocked.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, and traffic management is being arranged.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
