A six year safety programme aimed at reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries on farms is being launched today.
The programme, Safer Farms, is being launched by Work Safe New Zealand at Lincoln University today.
WorkSafe said it was targeting the agriculture industry because it was one of the worst performing in relation to health and safety.
Safer Farms would involve industry bodies' such as Federated Farmers and Beef and Lamb New Zealand and offer farmers education and training programmes around safety and risk management.
